Hugo Ellwood – Partner
My role as a Partner at Kinsella is all about people – our clients, our team, and our business networks. My passion for people grows from my desire to want to help people and provide the highest quality experience for every client and every team member.
With nearly thirty years’ experience in accounting firms, I have built expertise in financial reporting, business and tax advisory.
Away from work you will find me quite often on the Lake involved in rowing officiating at local regattas or helping out with the Marist Rowing Club.
Alex Breen – Partner
As a Chartered Accountant with over 15 years’ experience working in boutique and international firms, I have partnered with clients to navigate them through their complex business, tax and financial issues.
With extensive experience in tax advisory, outsourced CFO roles, in-house financial management and business advisory, my passion is working with business owners to help them achieve their goals and identifying their needs across the various stages of the business journey.
I aim to provide the highest value to both our clients and team, developing strong relationships based on open communication, a deep level of care and trust.
Originally from Canberra, I have a strong interest in travel and sport (in particular football (soccer) and golf). I enjoy good coffee, watching my favourite team (Arsenal FC) and love spending my weekends surrounded by friends and my young family.
Chanda Brown – Senior Manager
As a Chartered Accountant with over 15 years’ experience working in tax and business advisory, I have extensive experience providing taxation and accounting services to a wide variety of clients across various industries
I enjoy working closely with clients to provide comprehensive and strategic plans to minimise exposure to risks, maximise potentials while achieving their desired business outcomes and objectives. My goals are to assist to ensure the Kinsella team continue to provide excellent client service and achieve their professional and personal goals.
I started off my working career in science, but realised I enjoyed tax and business advisory more and I am also a member of the Tax Institute of Australia.
Originally from Sydney, I moved to Canberra in 2021 and have enjoyed exploring the surrounding region on weekends with my family.
Matt Ingall – Senior Manager
I am a Certified Practicing Accountant with over 15 years of experience working in Business Services in Sydney and Canberra.
One of my strengths is working with businesses to develop robust relationships to guide them through the complex and ever-changing Australian tax environment. I am passionate about the development and improvement of business systems, identifying client needs and working through a tailored solution with a commercial mindset.
Team wellbeing is extremely important, I am dedicated to the growth and development of the Kinsella team. A strong focus on our team, in turn, produces quality results for our clients.
As a rugby union tragic, I spend most of my Saturday playing 4th grade for Canberra Royals and cheering on the other teams. Any other time is spent with my young boys finding the next activity to enjoy.
Ming Wei Cheah – Senior Manager
I am a Certified Practicing Accountant with over 10 years of experience in tax, advisory, outsourced CFO/FC roles, and financial reporting. I hold the belief that change is the only constant and am highly committed to helping our clients navigate the ever-changing tax legislation, accounting standards, and business environments whilst achieving their business goals.
Although I am now based in Brisbane, my passion and strong client focus, coupled with strong support from the Canberra team, have empowered me to maintain exceptional client delivery standards for Kinsella’s clientele. I am dedicated to mentoring our accountants, enhancing their technical expertise, and prioritising their mental health and wellbeing.
During the weekends, I enjoy exploring regional cities/towns, mid-century furniture, and new eateries with my wife, and playing with or brushing my cat (Queen Mabel). Currently, I also serve as a finance committee member for Nusa Tenggara Association – East Indonesia Aid.
Zoe Connor – Senior Manager
I am a Certified Chartered Accountant with over 10 years’ experience working in public practice here in Australia and the UK.
As a Senior Manager my role involves providing taxation, accounting, and business advisory services to a wide variety of clients across different industries. My key focus is the delivery of quality business advisory services, I find it very rewarding partnering with clients to reach their strategic goals.
Working with the wider team, providing training and mentoring is really fulfilling as I enjoy watching the development in their careers with Kinsella.
As someone who is originally from the UK, I enjoy spending my holidays exploring Australia with my family – preferably with good food and wine!
Eva Lyu – Manager
I am a Chartered Accountant, who joined public practice in Canberra since early 2017 after my graduation from Australian National University with a Master of Accounting.
As a Client Services Manager here, my role is to help with managing the team and providing accounting, taxation, advisory and finance function services to a wide range of small to medium business clients, including constructions, retail, legal, information technology, consulting, etc.
I am always very passionate in tax planning and business structures, believing in the key role we are playing in people’s wealth accumulation from cradle to grave, also making sure everyone in the family is being taken care of.
Meanwhile, I am enthusiastic about team playing, coaching juniors and sharing my knowledge. It is always enjoyable to see everyone making progress in career together.
Outside work, I enjoy travel, movies, sports, and food, especially impressed by the number of good cafes hiding in Canberra. I am on my way to trying them all and maybe one day will publish a “Canberra Café Guide”!
Cecilia Chen – Supervisor
I have been a proud member of the Kinsella team since 2017, delivering strategic tax accounting and financial reporting services to our private businesses, families, and high net worth individuals.
I am passionate about understanding and meeting my clients’ unique needs, and building strong trust-based relationships. I enjoy advising business owners to get the most value from their businesses and helping individuals and families protect wealth and preserve a legacy.
I received my Master of Accounting degree from the Australian National University and I am a Chartered Accountant(CA). My learning journey continues with each client I meet and I believe getting the wide range of experience will further enhance my ability and skills.
Originally from China, I now call Canberra home and I speak English, Mandarin and Cantonese fluently. I enjoy the family-friendly lifestyle and food, and eventually warmed up to the Canberra winter.
Elizabeth Sproule – Supervisor
I am a Certified Chartered Accountant and have been with Kinsella since 2018, providing strategic tax, accounting and financial reporting services tailored to meet the needs of our clients.
In my role as a Supervisor, I am passionate about developing relationships with our clients while providing tax compliance, outsourced finance and financial and management reporting services. I enjoy working collaboratively with the team to provide training and mentorship and find fulfillment in providing assistance to clients to help them grow their business.
Outside of work you’ll often find me at the gym, enjoying time with my labradoodle Zion, or socializing with family and friends.
Fiona Fu – Supervisor
I am a Certified Practicing Accountant with over 8 years of experience, bringing expertise in accounting, tax and financial advisory services.
Working in accounting firms since 2016, my passion is to help individuals and businesses thrive. Whether it’s providing tax advice and preparing financial statements or working as part of our outsourced CFO service, preparing management reports, budgets and managing cashflow for business owners, I strive to exceed client expectations and build lasting relationships.
Outside of work, I have a secret (or not so secret) passion for Lego, travelling and spending time with my young family.
